Ecommerce Director

We seek an Ecommerce Director to lead and drive best-in-class ecommerce execution across all SGMT brands. This role requires a strategic, commercially sharp, and entrepreneurial leader with deep experience in Shopify, Amazon, omnichannel ecommerce, performance marketing, and CRO.
The Role
The Ecommerce Director is responsible for the strategy, performance, and growth of SGMT’s ecommerce ecosystem. Initially, this role will be hands-on, running our ecommerce operations directly. As we scale, Ecommerce Managers will report to this position, executing the strategy across individual brands.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the ecommerce strategy across all SGMT brands, ensuring exceptional performance on Shopify (DTC), Amazon, and other key platforms.
Lead and optimise performance marketing efforts, collaborating with internal teams to drive customer acquisition, retention, and conversion.
Oversee conversion rate optimisation (CRO), ensuring our digital storefronts are continually refined for maximum revenue impact.
Direct and manage ecommerce operations, working closely with Ecommerce Managers as the team grows.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Brand, Creative, and Marketing leads to ensure a cohesive customer journey and seamless brand experience.
Drive growth through data-led decision-making, using analytics to inform merchandising, pricing, and UX enhancements.
Own the ecommerce tech stack, ensuring all tools and integrations support scalability and efficiency.
Identify new opportunities for ecommerce expansion, including marketplaces, internationalisation, and emerging sales channels.
Who You Are
A proven ecommerce leader, experienced in scaling DTC brands through Shopify, Amazon, and omnichannel strategies.
A data-driven strategist, comfortable with performance metrics, CRO, and growth marketing levers.
An entrepreneurial thinker, excited to build and scale a business with commercial acumen and creative instinct.
A collaborative leader, able to direct Ecommerce Managers and work closely with other senior stakeholders.
A technically fluent operator, understanding ecommerce mechanics while directing a team for execution.
A brand-savvy digital expert, ensuring ecommerce execution aligns with SGMT’s creative and strategic vision.

Customer acquisition & retention performance (CAC, LTV, AOV)
Site conversion rate & UX improvements through CRO
Performance of paid media & digital marketing efforts
